It’s the biggest fear of anyone, especially if they are getting a spray tan for a special occasion or if it is their first time getting a spray tan. Here are some tips on getting a spray tan that looks totally natural and will last for over a week.

1. Ask questions:

Not all spray tan formulas are created the same. Ask what type of formula is used and if it is a “one color fits all.” If it is, steer clear. At Spray Tan Annapolis, we do custom color blending so your tan matches your natural skin tone.

2. Are you hormonal?

Ladies, did you know your spray tan results can vary based on hormones? If you have PMS or are menstruating, yes you can get a spray tan, but it could affect the color of your tan. So be sure to ask your spray tan artist how your hormones or cycle could affect your spray tan’s appearance.

3. Do you want a rapid tan or a regular one?

Rapid tans develop much more quickly than regular spray tans. (usually w/in 4 hours depending on the formula). That means if you have somewhere to be, you can shower sooner (with our rapid spray tans, you can shower after 4 hours).

4. Is there a finishing powder?

This is a really important question to ask. Why? Because without a finishing powder, you run the risk of getting sticky, staining your clothes, having your tan get rubbed off in certain areas, depending on the texture of your clothing, etc. At Spray Tan Annapolis, we use a luxurious finishing dust that includes shimmer, and smells amazing.
